Insights from WebexOne 2025: Where Collaboration Meets Intelligence

Every so often, an event doesn’t just inform, it transforms everything. WebexOne 2025 was one of those moments, showing how the intersection of AI, design and human connection is reshaping the way we work. 

Whether it was Cisco pushing boundaries with RoomOS 26 or Ryan Reynolds reminding us that “AI is like Nutella - a little can make everything better, but too much will make you sick,” WebexOne 2025 blended innovation with the perfect amount of humour and humility. 

Following on from WebexOne in San Diego, our teams have kept up the momentum by attending region-specific WebexOne events in London and Amsterdam to ensure we never miss a beat. 

Here’s the top ten breakthroughs that are redefining Webex RoomOS 26: 

This is what stood out technically from Cisco’s announcements, signalling a clear step forward in merging AI, UX and edge intelligence: 

1. Notetaker Agent – Transcribes and summarises meetings directly on the device, including spontaneous in-room discussions. 
2. Director Agent – Automatically switches framing and angles like a virtual film director.
3. Audio zones for Ceiling Microphone Pro – Enables IT to define digital audio boundaries and filter unwanted noise. 
4. Workspace Advisor – Generates a live digital twin of the room using sensors and cameras for layout and AV recommendations.  
5. Native Zoom meetings support – Full AI-powered Zoom meetings directly on Cisco devices, alongside Webex and Microsoft Teams. 
6. UX refresh – Modern UI, updated wallpapers and improved interface consistency across workspaces. 
7. AI agents beyond Notetaker – New Task, Polling and Scheduler Agents automate routine meeting actions. 
8. AI receptionist for Webex Calling – A virtual assistant that manages inbound calls, routing and scheduling. 
9. Open ecosystem AI integrations – Cisco AI Assistant now connects with Microsoft 365 Copilot, Salesforce, Jira and more. This will allow bi-directional communication between both sets of AI. 
10. Edge AI with NVIDIA – Brings local AI processing to devices, reducing latency and cloud dependency. 

Cisco’s RoomOS 26 wasn’t just a software update. It marked a paradigm shift from assistive to agentic AI, where systems don’t just help, they act. With innovations like Dynamic Camera Mode, Audio Exclusion Zones and the AI Notetaker Agent, meeting rooms are evolving into intelligent collaborators that adapt in real time to enhance engagement without complexity. 

Interoperability  

Equally transformative was the arrival of true interoperability. With native Zoom support now joining Microsoft Teams and Webex, IT teams can finally deliver consistent and platform-agnostic experiences without compromise. Interoperability now means choice, not limitation, a milestone that accelerates open collaboration ecosystems everywhere.
