On Monday, 9th September, Kinly UK hosted its annual Charity Golf Day at Ashford Manor Golf Club. This was the fourth year running we have been supported by our partners and teams to raise money for a worthy cause, this time in support of Surplus to Supper.
Players arrived at 10am in time for registration where they were treated to breakfast, collected their Kinly goodie bag, and given the chance to buy raffle tickets and one Mulligan per team, an opportunity to replay misdirected shots. Teams then warmed up on the practice greens before assembling at 11.30am for a shotgun start. Fortunately, the rain held off, and players competed in a hotly contested Texas Scramble format.
As usual, special prizes were up for grabs including a £25,000 cash reward for a hole in one, which, despite the best efforts of all the players, again went unclaimed. Additional prizes were on offer for the longest drive and nearest to the pin on designated holes.
Owing to the success of last year’s event, guests looking for an introduction to golf were able to participate in lessons with the club’s professionals whilst the teams were out on the course.
When the final were putts sunk and the scorecards handed in, players gathered for a BBQ, prize giving ceremony and raffle. With the scores verified, Team Sony picked up the third-place award and Q-SYS took top spot, narrowly edging out stern competition from TD SYNNEX.
Special thanks go to Kinly’s Charity Team and Ashford Manor Golf Club for organising the day, and to all our sponsors including key UK partners: Appspace, Cardinal, Exertis, HP Poly, Lenovo, Logitech, Midwich, Pexip, Q-SYS, Samsung, Sony, and TD SYNNEX.
Founded in Sunbury in 2017, Surplus to Supper collects and donates an average of ten tonnes of food per week to the places that need them most including foodbanks, schools, care homes, shelters, clubs, refuges, religious organisations, and more.
Matt Keen, Commercial Director, UK Region, Kinly, said:
“The Kinly Charity Golf Day is now in its fourth year and each time the event comes around I’m blown away by the support we receive from our partners, distributors and colleagues. The addition of lesson and learn sessions for those new to sport are also a fantastic way to ensure the event is inclusive and enjoyable for everyone, regardless of their golf experience.
The day is a brilliant opportunity to get together with our teams and peers to strengthen relations, but above all, it’s about raising money for such a great cause close to all our hearts at Kinly.”
Stacey Moore, UK Charity Committee Lead, Kinly, added:
“I’m proud of our team that comes together and puts in so much effort to make this event a success every year. The commitment from our partners is hugely appreciated by Kinly and we are thrilled to have been able to raise valuable funds for Surplus to Supper.
It’s truly rewarding to see how our collective efforts can make such a meaningful impact. Congratulations to the winners and all those who volunteered and took part, we can’t wait to welcome you back next year.”
