Setting out on a career in fashion retail, Stephannie Moore could not have imagined her rise to becoming an AV leader. After falling out of love with the fashion industry over ten-years ago, Stephannie decided to embark on a completely new challenge by throwing herself in at the deep end and applying for a role at Kinly as a Service Coordinator.
Stephannie displayed her talent and dedication from the very start and quickly rose through the ranks at Kinly, becoming a Level 2 Service Coordinator in just one-year. In this role, she was tasked with using her knowledge gained to train and develop new recruits. Fast forward another two-years, Stephannie was promoted to Service Team Leader on the service desk and was responsible for a team of eight supporting an international client base. Now, Stephannie heads up the Coordination team as Support Coordination Manager, servicing high profile customers in critical industries where prolonged downtime is not an option.
The technical service support desk is a fast-paced department where no day is predictable. Stephannie is responsible for budgeting and financial reporting, adhering to strict SLAs and ensuring issues are resolved as quickly as possible for optimal estate uptime and maximum customer satisfaction.
The team triage faults and coordinate with both clients and internal teams to ensure the correct engineering resources are assigned for efficient and lasting resolutions. In addition, Stephannie is responsible for driving a culture of continuous improvement by using knowledge learnt from engineering fixes and applying it across clients and projects to further maximise uptime for Kinly clients.
Stephannie’s journey from retail to a leader in the AV industry is a remarkable example of what can be achieved through the willingness to try new skills and challenge stereotypes.
To women thinking about beginning a career in technology, Stephannie had this to say:
“Just go for it! There’s nothing stopping you. We are just as good as our male counterparts. I came in not knowing anything about AV and with no office experience but if you put yourself forwards and believe in yourself, you will go far!
While AV is still a male-dominated industry, the female representation we have here at Kinly is great and it’s improving all the time. When I first started, the females on our team tended to work on the administration side, but now, we are seeing more and more take on roles on our technical service desk. I’ve had fantastic support around from me the start and I’ve found that there are always opportunities to try different roles and progress quickly through the business.”
