Announced on Friday, 1st November at a London ceremony held at Battersea Evolution, two members of our talented global team picked up the prestigious AV Professional and Rising Star of the Year awards.
Kagi Lau, Kinly Global Services APAC Operations Director, was awarded the AV Professional of the Year. The judges recognised Kagi as a powerful advocate for women who continually inspires and empowers more females to make their mark in the AV industry.
Kagi joined us over ten-years ago and has since been a driving force behind Kinly’s success in the APAC region, spearheading the expansion of our footprint, growing partner relations, and championing diversity in the technology sector.
Ryan Wilkinson, Commissioning Engineer, Kinly UK, secured the Rising Star of the Year award. Ryan was celebrated for his remarkable achievements and extensive industry accreditations amassed in such a short timeframe. The judges noted his natural leadership, exceptional communication skills, and a genuine passion for making a positive impact.
Ryan initially came to Kinly as a placement student under our Graduate Programme and, after showcasing his engineering talent, rejoined us permanently last year. Ryan sets the standard for excellence, continuously taking on the toughest challenges and going above and beyond to deliver his best for clients and colleagues.
The Education Project of the Year award was won by UAL’s East Bank Campus where we are proud to have been the integrator. The project included the development of a specialist virtual production research volume, creating capacity for innovative, trans-disciplinary, and practice-led research.
Judges praised UAL for its visionary approach to integrating AV into education, innovative use of digital design, and the effective onboarding of new teaching practices.
Taj Ghere, UK Region Managing Director, Kinly, said:
“We are delighted to have our teams recognised at the 2024 AV Awards. Kagi and Ryan’s achievements are different in many ways, highlighting the breadth and diversity of talent within our business. Being the third consecutive year where Kinly has picked up the AV Professional or Rising Star of the Year award - or both - makes this an even more remarkable achievement.
Additionally, our work supporting UAL, the winner of Education Project of the Year, reflects our commitment to delivering innovative and impactful solutions for clients in the education sector and further afield. These awards are a testament to the hard work of our entire global team.
Although we did not win in the DE&I category, I am personally extremely proud to have been shortlisted for this award, the only integrator to do so. This recognition speaks volumes of who we are as Kinly.
We look forward to continuing our momentum into 2025 and beyond.”
