Recruitment Rethink Drives Greater Diversity for Kinly

Kinly is delighted to welcome six new female colleagues into technical roles within the Benelux team. In an industry and function typically dominated by men, this represents an important step in the right direction for creating inclusive careers in Kinly and AV.

The new hires have been the result of a careful restructuring of how we attract, recruit and retain a more diverse workforce. We have focused on crafting our job advertisements with gender-neutral language and by removing overt masculine references from our vacancies, we have opened ourselves up to a wider pool of unlocked potential.

In our mission to inspire inclusivity, we have also encouraged our hiring managers to keep an open mindset when recruiting new talent. This includes undertaking unconscious bias training, actively focusing on the characteristics of applicants and placing value on soft skills, as opposed to hiring solely based on AV qualifications and experience.

By not viewing career gaps, family or caregiver status, and a host of other factors that can traditionally limit an applicant’s chance of success as a negative, Kinly is benefiting from a diverse range of views and experiences that will serve to enhance and expand our operations.

Andy Nicholls, Global Head of Talent Acquisition, Kinly, explained:

“The approach adopted by our Benelux hiring managers has been exemplary. These new hires are a real success story for Kinly and a sure sign that the work we are doing to create inclusive careers in AV is working. This not only demonstrates our commitment to improving diversity and inclusion, but also underscores our dedication to attracting and nurturing the best talent in the industry.

All this wouldn’t have been possible without the support and buy-in from our hiring team in the Benelux region. These new colleagues bring a wealth of experience and fresh perspectives that will undoubtedly enhance innovation and service."

The new recruits take up a wide variety of technical roles. Agnese Ritere joins Kinly as a Resource Coordinator and brings over a decade’s experience in logistics and coordination to the Benelux team. The QHSE Manager role has been filled by Amber van Leeuwen, who possesses a wealth of invaluable skills in quality, compliance and management.

Ashna van 't Zelfde joins Kinly Benelux as a Service Manager, coming from a technical background with sales experience to bring new ideas on how we can continue to deliver a first-class customer experience.

Isis De Oliveira is our latest PMO Coordinator and comes to the company following a career break to be a fulltime parent. With over eight-years’ experience in developing and launching innovative products and features in the technology industry, Isis’ appointment is a coup for Kinly Benelux.

Finally, Roza Michiel and Susan Kuijpers join Kinly as an On-site Support Engineer and Field Service Engineer, respectively. With technical AV experience gained in Europe and around the world in a variety of positions, Roza and Susan will support our clients with expert engineering assistance.

All the new recruits have hit the ground running, successfully passed probation and will continue to play a crucial role in ensuring we drive AV excellence in the Benelux region, and beyond.

Martijn Gras, Service and Support Manager, Kinly Benelux, said:

“I am delighted to welcome Agnese, Amber, Ashna, Isis and Roza to the Kinly Benelux team. A more diverse workforce creates a better office environment, makes people enjoy their work more and ultimately, improves business performance.

As the political landscape changes in the Netherlands, Kinly’s commitment to diversity is unwavering. It doesn’t matter what is happening around us, we are a global organisation and fully trust in our beliefs, and we are already seeing the fruits of our efforts. As a result, our company culture is improving all the time which will only help to attract a greater number of diverse candidates to Kinly in the future.”
