Exploring the Human Side of Technical Support with Aaron Pollard
When technology works seamlessly, it's easy to overlook the people behind it. For Aaron Pollard, Kinly's Technical Account Manager, helping customers navigate complex challenges and get the most from their technology has been the focus of a career spanning more than a decade.
Aaron's journey into technology began early. Inspired by a family member working in IT, he developed a curiosity for technology through hands-on experimentation and problem-solving. That early fascination evolved into a career built on continuous learning, practical experience, and a drive to help others.
Starting in a Tier 1 operations role, Aaron steadily broadened his expertise across service desk operations, technical support, and customer environments. Today, he serves as a vital link between customers, service teams, and technology, helping organizations make informed decisions, resolve challenges, and maximize the value of their workplace technology investments.

Built through experience
Rather than following a single defined career path, Aaron's progression has come from consistently taking on new challenges and expanding his understanding of both technology and customer needs. His operational background gives him a unique perspective, combining technical knowledge with an understanding of the business outcomes our customers are trying to achieve.
A career highlight came in 2020 when Aaron supported efforts to resolve issues within the client’s Vidyo environment ahead of a communication session involving astronauts aboard the International Space Station. The experience reinforced the importance of reliable technology and demonstrated how behind-the-scenes expertise can contribute to extraordinary moments.
Solving problems that matter
No two days are the same. Aaron's role can involve investigating technical issues, analyzing system data, coordinating with vendors, supporting customers, and identifying opportunities for service improvement.
While technical expertise is essential, Aaron believes successful support is equally about relationships. By working closely with customers, partners, and internal teams, he helps organizations stay proactive, reduce risk, and achieve better outcomes from their technology investments.
The most rewarding part of the role is seeing technology make a tangible difference. From helping a customer overcome a challenge to supporting the adoption of a new solution, Aaron is motivated by the impact technology can have on the way people work.
Beyond the day job
Outside of work, Aaron is a highly accomplished axe thrower, ranked among the top competitors in the world. It is a hobby that requires many of the same qualities that have shaped his professional success: focus, patience, precision, and continuous improvement.
If he hadn't pursued a career in technology, Aaron would likely have chosen another hands-on profession in carpentry or woodworking, building things that make a meaningful difference in people's lives.
Whether it’s supporting customers, solving technical challenges, or competing at the highest level of his sport, Aaron's approach remains the same: stay resilient, keep learning, and always focus on helping people succeed.
